On OpenAir - I love it, but was disappointed, post-implementation, to learn that there is no ‘live connection’ to their database and application from external applications.  This has restricted me to using their reporting module and made it difficult for us to integrate with our corporate KPI dashboards.

Amit,

What were your final decision points on Open Air vs. Quick Arrow? Just curious.

Thanks,

Dave C.

One major difference is that QuickArrow supports only Microsoft Internet Explorer. So if you prefer another browser, such as Firefox, for security reasons or because you have Linux or Mac users,QuickArrow is a non-starter.

Amit, I’d be interested to know if you’d considered Projector in your
analysis? In my experience it is significantly cheaper than OpenAir
(perhaps less than 1/4 of the price), but still very full featured
(with, for example, some Salesforce integration capability). I
“suspect” that OpenAir is still the more powerful of the two, but I
reckon I’m using only about 1/3 of Projector’s capabilities and it’s
working well for us across several countries. So I’m not equating low
cost with low functionality.

Hi Amit,
I’ve deployed OpenAir at several locations and have never been
disappointed. The challenges have been internal:

- Adoption:
To get the most out of it, I spent significant time evangelizing the system to other departments, especially Finance. Without the personal time, we may not have succeeded in getting the system adopted. You’ll need one evangelist to avoid having the system orphaned.

- Administration:
OpenAir is simple to manage, and doesn’t require much administration. We successfully deployed and ran the system for 50 accounts without an administrator. But we’ve grown to over 100 accounts and we use the modules extensively, beyond just Time &
Expense capture. We’ve had to assign admin functions to one of our individuals. I suggest you plan for it as you approach a large user base.

Regards,

Joe, VP PSO

We use to run Quick Arrow.  We evaluated OA, Change Point, and Projector and ended up with Projector.  If you’re interested in differences there (or experiences in general) let me know and I’d be glad to offer insight.

We’ve been extremely pleased with Projector thus far.  The dashboards, reporting, project management, and how we needed a PSA system to work in general just seems to be how they built the system.

I’d highly recommend giving them a look before making a decision.

David

We went through the same process recently and decided in favor of OA. I would be happy to share what we came up with, if you are interested.
