| What are three things most people don't know about you? |
- I was a cheerleader in high school
- I was put in a special “shy” class when I was in the first grade. (If you know me you would realize that whatever they did… it worked)
- I hate shopping. My husband picks out my clothes to buy.

| What's been your greatest adventure in life? |
Working at Commerce One. They were the top IPO in year 2000 and it was a truly amazing ride working for such a wildly successful company at that time.
| What's your best childhood memory? |
Camping with my family cross country and seeing the west coast.
| If you could have a conversation with a person of your choice, past, present or future, who would that person be and why? |
Bob Dylan. I believe he is the best song writer and he has met so many interesting people in his lifetime.
| What's the hardest thing you've ever done in your life? |
Leave my family and friends to move to San Francisco. It turned out to be the best thing I ever did as I met my husband there!
| Tell us about your favorite hobby. |
Crosswords and watching the Chicago Cubs.
| What are you currently reading? What is your favorite book? |
Favorite Book: A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
Currently Reading: Atonement by Ian McEwan
| Is there a particular place or thing you want to see? |
I want to go on a safari in Africa… the kind where you see wild animals by day and have fine dining and cocktails by night. It is expensive… but I hear it is a blast.
| If you could give $10,000 to a charity, what would that charity be and why? |
Doctors without Borders. They support children medically in other countries that can’t afford to attend to them.
| If you weren't on the professional services career track, what would you be doing? |
I would be a disc jockey.
| What is the path that led you to Professional Services/Consulting? |
I found that my customer facing skills were much better than my programming skills.
| What advice would you give to a recent graduate who just took a job in professional services? |
- Find a ‘real’ mentor that is an experienced peer in the group that he/she will be working in.
- Learn the application, including familiarizing yourself with all the documentation that is available.
- Ask to be introduced to key ‘go-to’ people not only in the group he/she works but the groups he/she has to work with.
- Obtain samples of ‘quality’ work products similar to what he/she will be asked to produce.
- Ask the mentor and ‘go-to’ people to walk you through the procedures/processes you will need to understand to execute your work.
- Ask the mentor to find you opportunities to ‘shadow’ peers performing like-type work on other projects.
- When assigned to a project, read up about the customer’s business and if technical, learn their infrastructure.
- Ask questions.
