What are three things most people don't know about you?

a). Cooking is my hobby and I can cook most Indian dishes.
b). I am a professional singer.
c). I love playing volleyball and tennis.

What's been your greatest adventure in life?

There have been many, but I remember my first ski trip to Tahoe right after I came to the USA in 1997. I had never attempted skating or skiing in my life.  After taking a few lessons, I thought I had learned to ski, so I went further up (still in the beginners section), got out of the lift and started skiing.  After a while, I realized that I didn’t know how to stop myself. Eventually, I fell down and broke my leg. My friend was kind enough to drive me from Tahoe, back to the hospital in San Jose.  I was in bed for 3 weeks.

But it doesn’t stop here. I was brave enough to go back the following year and try again. But I still had a problem stopping, so I decided not to chance another injury.

What's your best childhood memory?

Playing various games during summer vacation, non-stop from morning till evening.
If you could have a conversation with a person of your choice, past, present or future, who would that person be and why?

Past: King Shivaji!  Not many people know him, but he was one of the greatest kings who built Maharashtra state, (where Mumbai is) in India. This was many, many years ago but his leadership skills were truly amazing.

Present -Bill Gates! Almost everyone knows who Bill Gates is.  I would like him to know who I am too.

What's the hardest thing you've ever done in your life?

I don’t think I have seen or done the hardest thing yet. There is no such thing as “hardest” in life when you compare it with the rest of the world. I believe in building life my way, and facing challenges along the way.

Tell us about your favorite hobby.

As I said before, I have two hobbies. The first one is cooking and the second one is singing. I can sing “Bollywood” songs.

What are you currently reading? What is your favorite book?

Currently, I am reading ‘Failing Forward’ by John Maxwell.

Is there a particular place or thing you want to see?

Aah! I would like to go to Italy someday!

If you could give $10,000 to a charity, what would that charity be and why?

I regularly donate to groups like Save the Children and The Sankara Eye Foundation. If I had $10,000 to give to charity, I would donate it to the Sankara Eye Foundation, who performs eye surgery on people in need at a cost of only $30.  So, $10,000 could give sight to 333 people.

If you weren't on the professional services career track, what would you be doing?

I would be a singer or a chef.

What is the path that led you to Professional Services/Consulting?

I like to meet new people, work with people and I feel that I’m a natural when it comes to dealing with people. That’s what attracted me to professional services/consulting (after I got myself into software engineering).

What advice would you give to a recent graduate who just took a job in professional services?

I have only one thing to say,"Every disciplined effort has multiple rewards.”
